Images From Attending the September Creative Portrait Workshop with Nick Fancher

September 18, 2025

I have been following Nick Fancher’s work for many years. I’ve been drawn to the use of color since I started taking photos (again) back in 2020. One of my early shoots with a local artist was the beginning of this exploration. (I also used some of these techniques with some of my favorite clients, Southcourt and Orlando Mendez last year.)

After seeing a last-minute post on Nick’s Instagram (@nickfancher), I took the leap and took my Honda Fit on the 5.5 hour journey back up to my home state of Ohio. I had no idea what I was in for this weekend. And I’m so glad I went.

Here are some of the images from my time at his Creative Portrait Workshop. I met other students from Toronto, LA, Michigan, and so many other states. We learned some of his lighting and camera techniques. I can’t wait to be able to offer this to artists, creatives, and other professionals in Nashville now that I’m home.
